Job Description:


Under the general supervision of Building Service Worker, responsible for care and maintenance of softball diamonds and all turf maintenance throughout the fairgrounds.

Example of Duties:


(Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all duties which may be found in positions of this class.) Will perform the following duties: Operate mowers, weedeaters, trucks, tractors and other equipment. Use hand tools and some small power tools. Fix sprinklers and water pipes. Weed and maintain flower beds. Performs a variety of general custodial functions such as emptying trash, picking up litter, cleaning windows, sweeping and cleaning restrooms and other areas. Performs other duties in connections with the operation of the facility and/or area as may be assigned.

Requirements:


No minimum requirement, AND Some experience in Considerable knowledge of hand tools and mower usage; minor engine repair work. Ability to maintain service records of equipment; ability to repair sprinkling systems; ability to perform work requiring light, medium, and occasionally heavy physical effort; ability to follow direction and work well with others.operation of mowers, weedeaters and other equipment and knowledge in landscaping.

Special Requirements:


Must possess or be able to possess a valid Utah Driver’s license and have a good driving record. Must be adaptable to changing work hours as shift hours may be varied. Working days may include weekends and holidays.

Physical Demands:


Loud noise from mowers; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; working in extreme weather conditions.
