State Code 17-23-20 requires that all final local entity plats be reviewed and approved by the County Surveyor. In addition to the application made to the entity, the developer will need to submit a plat and pay a review fee to the County Surveyor’s Office before the plat review will be started by the County Surveyor’s Office.
The County Surveyor’s Office annexation plat review fee can be paid in person at the County Surveyors Office. The annexation review fee includes two reviews by the County Surveyor’s office as well as the two certified copies of the approved plat that the developer will need to submit to the Lieutenant Governor’s office.
Annexation Plat Review Fee
$350.00 Includes two reviews |
$75.00 per additional review |
Submittals from the surveyor who will execute the plat and subsequent reviews from the County Surveyor’s Office will be made directly between the two via email. The entity and developer may be carbon copied on all correspondence between the County Surveyor’s Office and the surveyor who will execute the plat if they request it of the County Surveyor’s Office.
Excessive Review Fee
It is the responsibility of the surveyor who will execute the plat to submit a plat for review which is complete and compliant with applicable state and county codes. Per County Code Sec. 45-4-3 plats submitted to the County Surveyor’s Office for initial review which do not meet the plat requirements outlined in state and county code may be subject to an excessive review fee. When plats are resubmitted to the County Surveyor’s Office for a subsequent review which do not address all of the state and county code outlined by the County Surveyor on a previous review may be subject to an excessive review fee. Once assessed, an excessive review fee must be paid to the County Surveyor before the County Surveyor’s review of the plat will be completed.
The excessive review fee is $75.00 per occurrence.
Review Checklist
In an effort to help projects through the review process as quickly as possible the Weber County Surveyor’s Office is including links to the checklists that we use for our review below.
After the review is completed by the County Surveyor’s Office the mylar plat can be brought to the County Surveyor for the approval signature. Once the plat has been signed the mylar plat will be returned to the developer with two certified copies of the approved plat to be submitted to the Lieutenant Governor’s office.
