Plats in Incorporated Weber County

Home » Surveyor » Subdivision Annex Review » Incorporated Plats

In an effort to help ensure that Subdivision, PRUD, Condominium, Dedication, or Vacation plats are compliant with the survey related requirements outlined in state and county code, the Weber County Surveyor’s Office has entered into an interlocal agreement to be a reviewing agency for the following cities located in Weber County:

  • North Ogden
  • Harrisville
  • Marriott Slaterville
  • Uintah
  • Huntsville
  • Pleasant View

A plat located in one of the above cities in Weber County must be reviewed by the County Surveyors Office. In addition to the application made to the city, the developer will need to submit a PDF copy of the plat by email to surveyor@webercountyutah.gov and pay a review fee to the County Surveyor’s Office before the plat review will be started by the County Surveyor’s Office.

The review fee can be paid by credit card or e-check through our e-invoice system or in person at the County Surveyors Office.

INTERLOCAL PLAT REVIEWS VARY BY CITY SEE CONTRACTS ABOVE FOR REVIEW FEE DETAILS

Submittals from the surveyor creating the plat and subsequent reviews from the County Surveyor’s Office will be made directly between the two via email. The city and developer may be included on any correspondence upon request.

Excessive Review Fee

It is the responsibility of the surveyor creating the plat to submit a plat for review which is complete and compliant with applicable state and county codes. Per County Code Sec. 45-4-3 plats submitted to the County Surveyor’s Office for initial review which do not meet the plat requirements outlined in state and county code may be subject to an excessive review fee. When plats are resubmitted to the County Surveyor’s Office for a subsequent review which does not address all of the state and county code outlined by the County Surveyor on a previous review may be subject to an excessive review fee. Once assessed, an excessive review fee must be paid to the County Surveyor before the County Surveyor’s review of the plat will be completed.

The excessive review fee is $75.00 per occurrence.

Survey Monuments

When a plat involves the construction of a private or public street the developer will be required to execute a monument improvement agreement with the County Surveyor to ensure the installation of survey monuments in the roadways of the development per County Code Sec. 45-6. Per the agreement the developer will pay an escrow and an inspection fee for all monuments intended to be installed.

The inspection fee is $400 per monument, which includes a brass cap, ring, and lid. The escrow is $600 per monument.
The Escrow may be waived for monuments installed and inspected prior to the recordation of the plat.

Review Checklists

In an effort to help projects through the review process as quickly as possible the Weber County Surveyor’s Office is including links to the checklists that we use for our review below.

Subdivision Checklist (pdf)

A record of Survey plat showing the land to be developed must be filed in the Surveyor’s Office before the County Surveyor will approve the development plat. It is responsibility of the licensed land surveyor creating the plat to ensure that a record of survey plat is filed in the County Surveyor’s Office.
