PROPERTY TAX AND TAXING ENTITIES EXPLAINED
How Is Property Tax Calculated?
WHERE DO YOUR TAX DOLLARS GO?
There are over 90 taxing entities in Weber County. Examples of taxing entities are counties, cities, school districts, and special districts. The services you receive and the taxing entities you pay depend on where you live.
To find out which taxing entities you pay, enter in your parcel number below.
Property Tax Information
The various taxing entities have a budget that stays the same from year to year. The tax rate is determined by that budget amount divided by the total property values in that taxing area. If a taxing entity would like to increase their budget, they must hold a Truth in Taxation hearing to explain to their property owners why they need a higher budget.
Weber County is one of the taxing entities that receive a portion of your total property taxes. This portion is used to fund County services. The County Treasurer is responsible for collecting all the property taxes and dispersing the taxes to each entity.
HOW CAN I MAKE MY VOICE HEARD?
Weber County is not proposing a tax increase for 2026. If a taxing entity in your area is proposing a tax increase, it must hold a Truth in Taxation hearing. If you want a voice in property taxes increasing, you must attend these hearings.
