The Weber County Sheriff’s Office is a contributing member of the Ogden Metro SWAT Team.
Ogden Metro SWAT provides a tactical response option to all law enforcement agencies within Weber and Morgan Counties.
Our mission set includes hostage rescue operations, barricaded suspects, counter sniper operations, V.I.P. protective details, high risk warrant services, security details for high risk trials within our local courts; transportation of high risk prisoners; and response to terrorism events.
We average about two callouts per month.
When fully staffed the team is comprised of 42 men and women who work full time for agencies such as: Harrisville City Police Department, Ogden City Police Department, Riverdale Police Department, Roy City Police Department, South Ogden Police Department, Weber County Sheriff’s Office, Weber State University Police Department, Ogden City Fire Department, Weber County Information Technology, and the Weber Fire District.
The Team is currently commanded by a Sergeant from the Ogden City Police Department and consists of a command element, two tactical squads, a marksmen squad, a medical component, crisis negotiators, and technical support personnel.
